Ok, Time for some Brutal Honesty....
If you are constantly battling to bring your vision to life, if you’re burnt out trying to achieve the career, income, recognition or life you are dreaming of, to the point where your dream is loosing its lustre and never seem to get real traction – you have an integrity problem.
Either you are not being honest about who you are, or you are not being honest about what you want.
OOF! - I heard how that landed! But stay with me….
When you look at the dreams and goals you are working on creating ... Take a deeeep breath, and ask yourself: Is this about doing what I TRULY LOVE? - or - Am I really going for what I secretly believe will make me MORE WORTHY OF LOVE?
If you are constantly coming up against internal and external blocks, chances are it’s the latter and you are creating from a place of identity misalignment.
In pursuing something to make you more worthy or your life ‘better’, the associated assumption is that you are not yet good enough - That you are lacking something vital, that you are somehow incomplete, imperfect, incapable or broken. So anytime you move towards that goal, your subconscious will find a way to block your path or disrupt your flow, and pull you back to the safe and familiar territory of what you really believe you are.
Of course you can do all the ‘things’ - the books, the courses, the coaches, the gurus, therapists, journaling, tapping, affirmations and meditations, to break through your resistance and self doubt… and you may well push through and succeed.
BUT... after all that work, when you finally achieve that desire, if your journey was essentially designed to fix your 'deficiencies', you won't feel the kind of joy and satisfaction you thought it would bring you - not for long anyway.
The feeling will be just out of reach, because where ever you go - there you are! The underlying belief of ‘lack’ remains, so you will keep looping back to dissatisfaction. That lack, at it's core is a lack of self love.
We all know of high achieving people who constantly chase more and more money, fame, notoriety, attention, power or love, yet remain insecure, unsatisfied and unhappy despite their apparent success. Entertainment and politics with their allure of fame, fortune and power seem to be littered with them. Substance abuse, addiction and mental health issues are common expressions of this frustration.
When deciding what we want in our lives, honesty about our deepest motivation can be tricky. We have been relentlessly conditioned to believe that we need to have, and to be, all sorts of things that we really don’t. That our happiness, and worthiness depends on our capacity to achieve a myriad of things that aren’t connected to our soul’s purpose at all.
However, if you can create from an absolute understanding that you are ALREADY perfect, whole and powerful; From acceptance that you are complete and nothing you could do or have on this planet can make you more so; From the understanding of your divine nature as an eternal, creative spirit experiencing a human life; That you are here to play and create whatever brings that spirit joy - simply to do the things you REALLY LOVE ... You can create true and lasting fulfilment.
When you do that, resistance subsides so energy flows easily, motivation and focus are inerrant in that energy and success is a natural by-product.
So, what do you REALLY love?
Often the clues are in the things we don’t necessarily consider important - things relegated to ‘hobbies’ or inconsequential little habits - like doodling for example (Amazing street artist KEF! seems to have have turned them into an entire career!). Something that we find ourselves doing without thinking or trying too hard. Maybe it’s one particular aspect of what you are currently doing that you love the most.
What are the things that make time disappear when you are in the flow with them?
What do you often find yourself engrossed with that might cause you to ignore an incoming call or text message?
What could you happily while away hours doing if you had infinite wealth and expert staff to do everything else for you?
If you had endless time and freedom (after you lay on the beach to recover from your life for a few weeks of course) what would you do to light up your mind and soul?
Whatever that is, here are the first few important questions to ask: - How can I amplify this? - What does that look like on a scale that will bring me the most incredible joy? - What do I have access to right now to start doing that? - What is one thing I can do today to bring more of that into my life?
